SOGEBRAS arose in 1993 in the port of Nantes/St Nazaire from the merger between two companies: SOGENA in Caen and LEBRAS in Lorient.

SOGENA was created in 1936 by the ship-owner of the company “Société Navale Caennaise”.
During the forties, SOGENA gradually expanded its branch network to all French ports.
Specialized in all port activities, the company is present in: Dunkirk, Le Havre, Rouen, Caen, St Brieuc, Bayonne, Sète and Marseille.

LEBRAS is part of the maritime KUHN group whose established its first port agency in Brest in 1948. This association gave place to the creation of UAT Brest (KUHN subsidiary) in 1972.
Today the group extended its network to the ports of:
       - Lorient (LEBRAS)
       - Nantes Saint Nazaire (SOGEBRAS)
       - La Rochelle – Rochefort (FAST)
